Watching someone suffer in extreme pain makes me so helpless, especially if that someone happens to be my most beloved grandma. Every night when the pain of cancer was too unbearable for her to fall asleep, she would sit on a small stool, by the balcony of our flat, looking down at the empty road. She was so tough that never once did I hear her sigh or grumble or even cry, but her facial expression could not hide the excruciating pain from me. I watch helplessly, day by day, how my chubby bubbly happy-go-lucky grandma slowly turned into a skeleton wrap only in skin as all her flesh was eaten up by cancer cells. Although she had passed away many years ago, my eyes still fill with tears whenever I mentioned her or cancer and others could notice the change in my voice and sense that I am trying very hard to hide my tears. Just like Mariah Carey's song, grandma, we will never say bye bye and I will always cherish those many years that we had together.

Sad stories should only be told in just six sentences. Thanks for reading.

So sorry to hear about your granma. She reminds me of my mum, she was a very strong woman too. Never once did she mentioned how painful it is when she was battling with her kidneys failures. I am very proud of her and although she left us 3 years ago, I know she's in a better place. Like your granma too! :D

Thanks for dropping by my blog earlier. Happy Wednesday to you! :D

Remember the time you use to had with your grandma . It will makes you feel better .. I lost my mom for cancer too .. and I never got the chance to know my grandma .. both grandma .. God loves than more that He had called them to be by his side even when I've not yet born .. I guess, I did met them in Heaven before I'm born?
Life goes on .. look forward and cherish the memories ..

So sorry to hear that your grandma passed away due to cancer. Just this morning, I've learned that one of my neighbors has late stage brain cancer. Although I am not close to her, I felt sad, really sad for her. She's in her mid 30's - so young.

Every Thought Counts
