So Many Twins

My younger son was helping me to prepare dinner last night. We made omelette and I asked him to break six eggs for me. Five out of the six eggs have 2 yolks. What are the odds of getting so many twins in the same batch of eggs? I have been cooking for years and had break thousands of eggs and had only seen egg with two yolks, twice. That also at separate occasion. My son said "Does that mean I am darn lucky today?" Hahahahha

Is he really that lucky or there had been some alteration genetically on chickens now a days so that they can multiply faster? Notice the photo above, only one yolk is large, actual size, the rest are smaller and joint together. One of the twin yolk broke, that's why you will only see nine smaller yolks and one large yolk.

Hmmm, told hubby about this and he said I think too much. Well, anyway those omelette taste delicious and hope those eggs are really safe for consumption.

Thanks for reading. How time flies. Hope I could blog more often. So many stuffs in my head that I need to pen it on my blog but time is not really on my side. Till next time, have a nice day to all readers.

Wife For Sale?!?!?

I was having dinner with my sister and her family at a restaurant near my house. We were sitting there waiting for our food to arrived when suddenly my nephew said "oh can get a wife for RM600, not cheap!" and he pointed to this board. This is hilarious.

Actually below the poster there was a rack filled with a few types of biscuits all nicely wrap. Those words up there were actually direct translation from Chinese, the name of the biscuits. Yes, there is such a thing as wife biscuits. In Cantonese we called it "lo por pang" which means wife biscuit. Not that the husband should not eat it, it was just that traditionally, when you marry off your daughters, the groom side of the family would have to give a certain number of wife biscuits to the brides family about one to two weeks before the wedding. The bride's family will then send the biscuits together with the wedding invitation card to friends and relatives, and yes, most of the time, by hand.

Guess the shop owner just want to save space and paper, he just wrote wife, and it is only RM6.00 and not RM600. He even saved on ink for decimal. My youngest son went up to the board and took this photo with his hand phone and the shop owner and his workers kept looking at him, puzzled, still not knowing that in English it means you could actually buy a wife from his shop. Guess his English is not too good.

Just thought of sharing this with you. Thanks for reading. Wonder if any foreigner had ever ask to see the "wife" catalog instead of the food menu. Hahahah!

Clouds with a story

I took these photos many years back when we went on a trip to the beach. Everyone was playing at the beach. It was evening. As I sat there watching the sun set, I told myself I would better captured it on camera. Little did I realize that instead of sunset, I captured a cloud tuning into a story. Isn't this amazing. Maybe someone up there is trying to tell us something. Everyone saw as the cloud change to form a dragon or something like that. Interesting.

Hope you like this amazing story from the clouds above. Thanks for reading and have a nice day.

Six Sense

Few months ago, out of the blues, my brother-in-law, who rarely text me on the phone, send me a text message. He said due to so many H1N1 cases in Kuala Lumpur, how do I prevent. He said cod liver oil should help strenghthen our immune system. Ask if I think that is enough. I reply, now a days we eat raw minced garlic. I added raw minced garlic in our rice at dinner time. Even my 12 year old don't mind eating it this way, for health sake. Once you mix it in your rice and eat it with your dishes, it won't taste so bad. We eat like this for about 3 days a week. Not everyday.

A couple of weeks later he send me another text. He said his teenage daughter contracted H1N1 and now under quarantine at home. Not really serious, she recovered in just a few days but still need to stay in her room for at least a week.

Strange. It is like he could feel it coming. Maybe everyone does have some sort of six sense, just maybe we didn't really take note. So do you have that extra sense?

Just wanted to share this strange tale with all of you. Thanks for reading.
